LTE Band Reference
Quick-reference table of the commercial LTE bands defined in 3GPP TS 36.101 — downlink and uplink frequency ranges, EARFCN ranges, channel-bandwidth options, and duplex mode (FDD vs TDD). Use it to decode field logs, plan carriers or validate UE band support.

About the LTE band table
3GPP TS 36.101 defines the complete set of E-UTRA operating bands. Each band fixes a downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) frequency range, a duplex mode (FDD paired spectrum, TDD unpaired spectrum, or Supplemental Downlink / Uplink), and a set of supported channel bandwidths from 1.4 MHz up to 20 MHz. Within a band the carrier frequency is identified by the EARFCN (E-UTRA Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number) — a 100 kHz-resolution integer that maps directly to MHz via the formulas in section 5.7.3.
Use this reference whenever you are reading vendor logs (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, Samsung), configuring a UE test plan, or sanity-checking a carrier-aggregation band combination. The EARFCN ranges are also essential for importing topology into planning tools such as Atoll, Asset and Mentum.

How to use this tool
- Filter by duplex. Narrow to FDD or TDD if you already know the duplex mode.
- Find the band. Locate the band number you need (for example band 3 or band 41).
- Read the row. Note its DL/UL frequencies, EARFCN ranges, bandwidths and duplex.
Frequently asked questions
- What does the LTE band reference table contain?
- For each LTE band (per 3GPP TS 36.101) it lists the DL and UL frequency ranges, the EARFCN ranges for each direction, the supported channel bandwidths and the FDD/TDD duplex mode. It is meant as a quick desk reference for band planning and EARFCN sanity checks.
- How are LTE FDD and TDD bands distinguished here?
- FDD bands list distinct DL and UL frequency ranges (and two separate EARFCN blocks), while TDD bands show the same frequency range for both directions because they time-share one channel. Bands like 38, 40 and 41 are TDD; bands like 1, 3, 7 and 20 are FDD.
- What is the EARFCN range used for?
- The EARFCN range marks the first and last valid channel numbers in a band on the 100 kHz raster. If an EARFCN falls outside a band’s range it does not belong to that band, which is handy when you are verifying a logfile or a cell configuration.
