SRVCC: fallback to 3G/2G during a call

Card 1 of 425%

When LTE Coverage Runs Out Mid-Call

What happens when you are on a VoLTE call and you move out of LTE coverage into an area with only 3G or 2G? SRVCC (Single Radio Voice Call Continuity) handles this by seamlessly handing the voice call from the LTE/IMS domain to the 3G/2G circuit-switched domain. The call continues without dropping — the user may notice a brief audio gap but the call stays connected.
