The IMS Architecture
IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is a standardized framework for delivering multimedia services over IP. At its core are three CSCF (Call Session Control Function) nodes that handle SIP signaling. The P-CSCF is the entry point, the I-CSCF is the interrogating node that routes to the right server, and the S-CSCF is the session controller that handles call logic and service triggers.
