Why FOTA Matters

Firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) is essential for cellular IoT because devices are deployed in places where physical access is expensive or impossible. A smart meter in a basement, a soil sensor in a remote field, an asset tracker on a moving truck — sending a technician to update firmware costs more than the device.
