NB-IoT (also called Cat-NB1 / Cat-NB2) was designed for the deepest low-power IoT segment. It uses a single 180 kHz carrier — a single LTE physical resource block — supporting peak rates around twenty-six kilobits per second downlink and roughly sixty kilobits per second uplink. NB-IoT does not support handover in connected mode, has no voice, and provides only limited mobility through cell reselection in idle mode.
