5G Fundamentals
In this lab you will build a full 5G Standalone architecture from scratch. You will place the gNB on the radio access side and then deploy eight core network functions including the AMF, SMF, UPF, UDM, AUSF, PCF, NRF, and NSSF. Each function must be wired correctly using both reference point interfaces and the service-based interface bus. This hands-on exercise reinforces how the SA architecture separates control and user plane functions while unifying NF communication through the SBA service bus model.
Try these first, even if you're not sure. Guessing primes your brain.
The 5G core has a brain that decides rules and a forwarder that moves packets. Why an interface between them?
If you hard-coded IP addresses between core functions instead of using a registry, what breaks first?
Where should the hand-off from core to public internet live?
