Telecom Frequency Bands

Mobile operators use specific frequency bands licensed from governments. In 5G NR, bands are named with the "n" prefix: Low Band (< 1 GHz): n5 (850 MHz), n8 (900 MHz), n28 (700 MHz), n71 (600 MHz) — excellent coverage, moderate speed. Mid Band (1-6 GHz): n1 (2100 MHz), n3 (1800 MHz), n41 (2.5 GHz), n77/n78 (3.5 GHz) — balance of coverage and speed. High Band / mmWave (24+ GHz): n257 (28 GHz), n258 (26 GHz), n260 (39 GHz), n261 (28 GHz) — extreme speed, very limited range.
