Understanding the Timing Error Budget
A timing error budget allocates the maximum allowable time error across every element in the synchronization chain from PRTC to gNB. The ITU-T G.8271.1 standard defines the end-to-end network limit of plus or minus 1.1 microseconds maximum absolute time error at the gNB reference point. This budget must be divided among the PRTC/grandmaster, each boundary clock, the transport links, and the gNB slave clock.
