NWDAF Architecture per 3GPP TS 23.288

The Network Data Analytics Function is a 5G core NF defined in 3GPP TS 23.288 that provides analytics services to consumers such as PCF, NSSF, AMF, and SMF. NWDAF collects data from network functions via Nnwdaf service-based interfaces and from the OAM system. It operates in two logical roles: NWDAF-AnLF (Analytics Logical Function) that performs model inference, and NWDAF-MTLF (Model Training Logical Function) that trains ML models. Multiple NWDAF instances can be deployed per analytics ID, enabling distributed analytics across network slices or geographic regions.
