Macro, Micro, and Small Cell Sites

5G deployments use several site types optimized for different scenarios. Macro rooftop sites mount antennas on building rooftops in urban areas — typical height 20–40m, serving radius 300m–1 km. Greenfield tower sites are purpose-built structures (monopole, lattice, or guyed tower) for suburban and rural areas — heights of 30–60m, radius 1–5 km. Micro/street-level sites attach small form-factor radios to lamp posts, utility poles, or building facades — heights of 5–10m, radius 50–200m, ideal for urban capacity densification and mmWave deployment.
