Traffic Steering and QoE Optimization
The RIC platform unlocks use cases impossible with traditional RAN. Traffic steering xApps monitor cell loads and UE conditions via E2 KPM, steering UEs to less loaded cells, frequencies, or RATs with ML-based congestion prediction. Control loops run at roughly 100ms using the E2 RC service model. QoE optimization goes further — monitoring per-UE metrics like throughput, latency, and retransmission rates, correlating them with application-level quality such as video buffering or gaming lag.
