The Management Brain of O-RAN
The Service Management and Orchestration framework is the top-level management entity in O-RAN. SMO provides FCAPS management — Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, and Security management — for all O-RAN components via the O1 interface. It hosts the non-RT RIC, providing the rApp platform for policy-based and AI/ML-driven optimization.
