E2 Service Models: KPM, RC, CCC — what each exposes
What E2 Service Models Define
E2 Service Models specify the vocabulary and semantics for communication between the near-RT RIC and E2 nodes. Each service model defines a set of information elements encoded in ASN.1 that describe what measurements can be reported, what control actions can be requested, and what configuration parameters can be modified. The E2SM identifier is negotiated during E2 Setup, where the E2 node advertises its supported RAN functions and the RIC confirms which it can consume. This negotiation ensures that xApps only subscribe to capabilities the E2 node actually provides, preventing mismatched…
