What MDT Replaces

Minimization of Drive Tests (MDT) is a 3GPP-standardized feature that collects RF measurements from real subscriber UEs, reducing the need for expensive drive test campaigns. MDT provides coverage data from locations and times that drive tests cannot easily reach — inside buildings, on residential streets, during late night hours.
