What is network slicing and why it matters
One Network, Many Services
Network slicing is the ability to create multiple independent, virtualized end-to-end networks on top of a shared physical infrastructure. Think of it like lanes on a highway — the same road supports a bus lane for high capacity, an emergency lane for priority traffic, and regular lanes for everyone else, each with different rules and guarantees. In 5G, a single physical network can simultaneously support ultra-high-speed broadband, ultra-reliable low-latency communications, and massive IoT, each as an isolated slice with its own tailored QoS and security.
