Paging KPIs: Paging SR, congestion, response time

Paging Success Rate

Paging success rate measures the AMF's ability to reach idle-mode UEs when downlink data or signaling arrives. The KPI is computed as successful paging responses (Service Request from UE) divided by total paging initiations. In 5G, paging occurs at the tracking area level — the AMF pages all gNBs in the UE's registered tracking area list. Paging failures mean the UE is unreachable, directly impacting service accessibility. Common causes include UE power-off without deregistration, tracking area misconfiguration, and RAN paging congestion.
