Femtocells are the smallest indoor small cell category, designed to serve one to eight simultaneous users within a single room or small office. They transmit at very low power levels of zero to ten dBm, covering a radius of ten to fifteen meters. Femtocells connect to the operator core network via the customer existing broadband internet connection — DSL, cable, or fiber — using IPsec tunnels for security.
