Indoor CPE Devices

Indoor CPE devices are the simplest FWA option, resembling a standard home WiFi router. They sit on a windowsill or shelf and contain an integrated antenna array, 5G modem, and WiFi radio in a single enclosure. Indoor CPEs are ideal for self-installation since customers simply plug them in and follow setup instructions. However, indoor placement introduces window penetration loss of five to fifteen decibels depending on glass type. Building materials like concrete and low-emissivity coated glass further attenuate signals, limiting indoor CPE to areas with strong outdoor coverage.
