Kubernetes Health Probes for Network Functions
Kubernetes uses three types of health probes to monitor container health and manage traffic routing. Liveness probes detect when a container has entered an unrecoverable state and trigger automatic restarts. Readiness probes determine whether a container is ready to accept traffic, removing unready pods from service endpoints. Startup probes give slow-starting containers time to initialize before liveness checks begin.
