PCI and PRACH Configuration

Physical Cell Identity ranges from 0-1007 (336 groups x 3 IDs). PCI planning rules: avoid mod-3 conflicts between neighbors (PSS collision), avoid mod-30 conflicts (DMRS interference), maintain PCI group separation for cells sharing the same site. PRACH configuration: root sequence index (0-837 for long format), zero correlation zone config (0-15), PRACH configuration index determines time-frequency location. Typical urban deployment uses PRACH config index 148-155 for FR1 TDD. Preamble format A1 is most common for 5G NR with restricted preamble sets for high-mobility scenarios.
