Real-world: 6G research labs and early prototypes worldwide

University and National Lab Prototypes

Leading universities have demonstrated early 6G technology prototypes. NYU WIRELESS has characterized sub-THz propagation channels at 140 GHz with phased array prototypes. University of Oulu 6G Flagship demonstrated joint communication and sensing at mmWave frequencies. Samsung Research achieved 6.2 Gbps at 140 GHz over outdoor links. DOCOMO and NTT demonstrated 100 Gbps transmission at 150 GHz. National labs including NIST and Fraunhofer are developing THz device characterization standards and testbed infrastructure.
