Lab: Design RIS-assisted coverage for indoor dead zones

RIS Coverage Extension

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) are programmable metasurfaces that can reflect, refract, or focus wireless signals to extend coverage into areas unreachable by direct line-of-sight. Unlike traditional repeaters, RIS panels are passive (or nearly passive), consuming minimal power while providing controlled signal redirection. In this lab you will place RIS panels on a building floor plan to eliminate coverage dead zones, learning optimal placement strategies based on reflection geometry.
