Reading Protocol Traces

In real-world troubleshooting you work with protocol traces captured from network interfaces. A registration trace contains NAS messages between UE and AMF, NGAP messages between gNB and AMF, and SBI messages between core NFs. Each interface carries a different piece of the registration puzzle. Being able to identify each message, understand its contents, and correlate messages across interfaces is the most critical skill for a 5G protocol engineer working in network operations or testing.
