From Study to Normative AI/ML Specifications

Rel-19 is working to transition AI/ML for the NR air interface from the Rel-18 study phase (TR 38.843) toward normative specifications. The ongoing work addresses how the gNB would configure the UE with ML model parameters, how compressed CSI reports would be structured, and fallback procedures when model performance degrades. For beam management, work-in-progress procedures define how the UE would report ML-predicted beam recommendations alongside legacy L1-RSRP reports.
