Satellite link budget analysis is critical for NTN deployment. The link budget determines whether a signal transmitted from a satellite can be received with sufficient quality at the UE. Key parameters include orbit altitude (LEO 600km, MEO 8000km, GEO 35786km), frequency band (S-band, L-band, Ka-band), free space path loss, atmospheric absorption, rain fade, and antenna gains. In this lab you will calculate link budgets for different orbit-band combinations and discover how these factors affect NTN feasibility.
